You are not defined by a number and your self worth doesn’t need to be attached to a rigid number.
Here’s why:
Weight isn’t static. It’s dynamic, constantly fluctuating.
The digits only give a single view of your body composition. Viewing yourself, or attaching your self worth to this one number is like walking on a tightrope. It’s tricky at best, doomed for failure at worst.
Muscle mass, bone density, stage of digestion, hydration levels and yes, our fat stores, ALL play a part in our total weight.
Even an athlete’s weight fluctuates throughout the day, and from day to day.
That’s why weighing just once a week during a weight loss phase is like trying to see the whole universe through a narrow tunnel. It’s only showing part of the picture.
It’s not about becoming obsessed with weighing daily. It’s about learning to let go of a single number because weight loss isn’t a smooth downward ski slope, it’s more of an undulating hillside. .
Be curious and kind about how your body functions and you’ll see you’re not being good/bad, or a failure - you’re learning.
